Antenna Compendium - Vol 5 |
 |
QST magazine gets far more articles
than it can ever publish in one year. Instead of sending them back to
the authors, they came up with a great idea....why not do a compendium.
And they did. Volume #5 Latest edition. Released Spring 1997 A whopping
41 article are included in this new edition. To achieve a big signal on
80 and 160, you need an efficient antenna. It's not as hard as it
sounds...if you have the knowledge and power or what needs to be done.
Eight articles are devoted to 80 and 160. Includes K6NA's two element
yagi and N6BV's two-element quad for 80/75 meter bands. |
| Al Christman, KB8I of
Grove City (PA) College has written a comprehensive paper on elevated
radials for low band antennas. I consider this to be a "must read
paper" if you are going to install them. Other bands are also
comprehensively covered in great detail. Linear loading for a small 40
meter antenna. AI1H covers baluns and matching antennas. Using the
computer to model antennas is also part of this new edition. Many
authors have modeled their designs extensively before they even cut a
piece of wire or pipe. Source and pattern data is included to be used
with many of the popular modeling programs now available EZNEC, AO,
NEC/WIRES and NEC-2 (Please note these programs are NOT part of the
included disk.) The disk does include Brian Beezely's wonderful PLOT and
GENPF programs at no extra charge. There's something for everyone in
Volume 5 of the very popular Compendium series. Softbound. |
